  • Advised national online retailer on all aspects of business processes, including preparing purchasing, distribution, partnering, and employment agreements and policies and providing creative solutions to marketing programs to reduce risk of intellectual property and unfair competition claims.
  • Successfully renegotiated terms after management team of mid-sized defense contractor negotiated letter of intent relating to $15 million merger with larger defense contractor; enabled management to save face with board of directors and shareholders and prevented significant loss of shareholder value with regards to contemplated transaction.
  • Directed numerous copyright and patent infringement claims/lawsuits against national jewelry retailer.  Successfully negotiated early settlements and managed local out-of-state co-counsel.
  • Lead intellectual property attorney for various law firms; monitored changes and trends in intellectual property law, trained and supervised junior attorneys, and counseled clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection and compliance.
  • Managed and directed numerous trademark, copyright, and patent infringement lawsuits, including preparation and response to cease and desist letters, DMCA take-down notices, pre-litigation negotiations, preparation of complaints, answers and discovery responses, and supervision of local counsel.  Prepared trademark and copyright applications and non-disclosure and license agreements.  Litigated and arbitrated claims.
